Over the summer, we took a road trip to Indiana for a concert. I am always up for a road trip, but I always look to squeeze in a little bit of nature =)

Not far from where we were staying in an AirBNB, I found Ritchey Woods Nature Preserve in Fishers, Indiana.

This nature preserve would be perfect for kids as the trails are wide and fairly flat and you can hike most of the trails within about 2 hours. Dogs are also allowed which was great!

We started our hike out by passing the little cabin and heading to the observation platform and then followed the Hare Creek Trail west towards the Swamp Trail.

The swamp was pretty dry while we were there, but a floating boardwalk allows you to take a stroll through the swamp.

We made our way over Hare Creek again and to the Creek Ridge Trail. We passed by the Osborn Family Pioneer Graveyard as well.
