Thanks! I think it would be a great addition to your blog! I often find a lot of places to hike from your blog (http://campingmissouri.org/) and then go to Google to look up where they are at. So if you have a Google/Gmail account, you can create these maps for free. If you don’t have an account, you can set one up for free. If you google “My Maps” it will bring up a link to Create Your Own Map. Basically, then I just add markers for all of my blog posts! If you want more detailed information, or need help, email me at kalkal55(at)gmail.com and I would be happy to help! Thanks for your comment!
I am in the process of creating a map. I think I have a decent handful of places, so this will be very cool! Thank you so much for sharing how to do it, and for the inspiration to make one by having one yourself! I certainly couldn’t have done this without you!
Oh my! You haven’t hiked in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park! That’s the ultimate hiking spot on the east half of the US. I would recommend you plan a trip there ASAP. I think you’d love it!
This is kind of random, but if you haven’t been there, you really ought to head out to the Wichita Mountains in Oklahoma. I know that sounds crazy but those mountains are awesome. It’s a bit of a drive, but well worth it. It is easily one of the prettiest spots in the center of the country. Beautiful mountains, awesome wildflowers, rugged wilderness and some of the best wildlife in the entire country!
Not sure why I am just now noticing your map! Great idea. I have been logging things for awhile on my own map. Did you know you can change those icons and categorize things a little to give it a little more dimension. Have a look at mine -> https://drive.google.com/open?id=1F4kwFgxByf6M_CHtuRWgTb2h-QA&usp=sharing
Wow…so I have to know, because I am not so technology savvy…how did you do this?!? I need to do this. This is very cool.
