Our first stop on our way to Louisville, Kentucky was at the trailhead for Buttermilk Falls in Brandenburg, Kentucky. To get to the trailhead, you drive along the riverfront of the Ohio River.
We stopped to check out the murals and the monument.

Buttermilk Falls is a 2.5 mile one-way path. This was a very peaceful walk and fairly flat as well.
Just after a half mile, Buttermilk Falls is on the right. While this is not a large waterfall, it is a small cascade. I read some negatives reviews on this trail since Buttermilk Falls is small, but I think we can all appreciate it for what it truly is!
The paved trail then ends at a gate and the trail shoots off to the right to the cutest bridge.

We walked almost to the end and then turned around. On our way back, we stopped at the little “park”. Be sure to check out Emmert Falls which is sort of behind this park. Looks for the little footbridge shown in the picture below and then take the trail to the left.
There is a small pavilion and then the falls are right behind it. There was a little bit of water flowing!
There is also a more primitive trail that runs parallel to the main trail.
This was a great place to get out and stretch our legs before heading onto Tioga Falls.
Nice murals!! Pretty area!
