Sugar Creek Covered Bridge is located south of Springfield, Illinois about an hour from St. Louis, Missouri. This historic, red bridge once allowed travelers to cross Sugar Creek.
In 1965, IDOT upgraded the bridge by placing it on a modern foundation to preserve it for years to come.
The bridge was constructed in 1827 and is one of just five covered bridges remaining in the State of Illinois.
A special thanks to my friend, Michelle, for coming along!
