While we were exploring the South Cumberland Plateau in Tennessee, we took a drive to Tims Ford State Park. Tims Ford State Park is located just south of Tullahoma, Tennessee on the Tims Ford Lake. We first drove down by the dock and checked out the view of the lake. We got a quick bite at the small lake-side snack bar before heading back to the Visitor’s Center.
The park has several hiking trails and even a paved bicycle trail as well. After getting a map at the Visitor’s Center, we chose to hike the Lost Creek Overlook Trail. This trail is 1.3 miles and rated moderate to strenuous. It was a very nice trail along the lake crossing over two suspension bridges. The trail ends at an overlook and from here we took the paved Marble Plains Trail back towards the Visitor’s Center.
We also walked along the bicycle path for a bit to find the old bridge that crosses over a cove of the lake.
This is a nice park situated along a beautiful and calm lake. Be sure to check out the Tennessee’s State Park website for more information.
About 20 minutes away from Tims Ford State Park is the Jack Daniels Distillery. It is a pretty interesting place to check out and take the informational tour.
