Garden of the Gods is one of Illinois best natural wonders. It is located in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest, about three hours from St. Louis. Sandstone rock formations emerge from the forest below. There is an observation trail that will lead you to the rocks.The area is a lot of fun since you can climb out on the rocks and explore a bit.

They call the rock in the picture above Camel Rock. Can you see the resemblance?

The view from on top of the rocks is amazing. It feels like you are on top of the world and can see forever.
