Whenever I take a road trip, I always like to find neat roadside attractions to stop at. After we visited Jeffrey’s Cliffs (you can see that post HERE!), we took a different way back to our hotel in Owensboro, Kentucky. We traveled through southern Indiana on Route 66 and came to Rockport.
We first stopped at the Rockport mural that is in the heart of downtown.

Then we continued on to Rocky Side Park. This is a neat park right on the bank of the Ohio River. It would be a good spot for a picnic.

The most unique feature of this park is the rocky outcropping that you can climb up into!

A set up metal stairs that then turns to stairs cut into the side of the rock lead up into a long cave.

You can’t even really stand up in it!

If you are ever driving through Rockport, be sure to check this unique feature out!
Rockport is also known for its’ history tied to Abraham Lincoln. We wanted to visit the Lincoln Pioneer Village and Museum, but they were not open for the season yet.
