I recently bought a kayak and wanted to try it out! I met my friend Amy in Milltown, Indiana, which is in southern Indiana near Interstate 64 at Cave Country Canoes for a float trip!

Being from near St. Louis, float trips are a staple of summer. We usually float Missouri rivers that are clear and have rocky bottoms.

We floated the peaceful Blue River and chose the half-day trip, which was 7 miles. This float would be perfect for kids.

I have nothing but great things to say about Cave Country Canoes! They have a great set-up in the heart of town, and everyone was super friendly!

We took a bus to the start near an old iron bridge. 

The best part is they also allow dogs on the float trips and were very accommodating, even allowing Ellie within their shop! 

I really liked how the Blue River was quiet, and the banks were lined with trees. We saw so many turtles too!!!
