In May 2024, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Switzerland for work! I left on a Monday, we landed in Switzerland on Tuesday, I had two days of meetings, two days to explore and then I came home on Saturday! I’ll recap what I did below! Be ready for picture overload 🙂
Rhine Falls
For dinner one night, we went to Schloss Laufen which is a castle that sits on the southern side of the Rhine Falls, the most powerful waterfall in Europe. You take a glass elevator down to the boardwalk and then buy a ticket at the kiosk. From there, you can explore several overlooks and walkways along the Rhine River! I normally don’t explore in a blazer and dress pants, but I had to make an exception! The falls are beautiful and powerful!!
See the small Swiss flag in the above picture? You can actually take a boat to the rock in the middle of the falls, walk up a staircase and get your picture in front of the falls! I didn’t do this, but heard it is a quick round trip.

Schaffhausen
We stayed in Schaffhausen which is about an hour north of Zurich by train. Everyone says the old town area has a Beauty & The Beast vibe and it totally does. We walked around checking out the sites. One thing that I loved is that you can walk EVERYWHERE!

I love maps and found the one above!

Fun fact – you can drink out of all of the water fountains in town so of course I had to fill up my bottle!

We also visited the Munot which is a 16th century fortress in the middle of the city. Deer live on the grounds!

I loved the views from the Munot! They were stunning!
We then played a little ping pong in the park near by. This video cracks me up as I was overly exited I won a point! I had fierce competition and I am ready for a re-match if I visit again!
The Rhine River flows through Schaffhausen so one night we walked along the river and got ice cream after visiting the Munot!

I really enjoyed seeing these sights and a special THANK YOU to Grace and her children for sightseeing with me! I had a wonderful time! Stay tuned for another adventure in Switzerland and…Germany!

what a wonderful trip!
