Bennett Spring State Park – Missouri

Located near Lebanon, Missouri, Bennett Spring State Park is stunning. Fisherman from all over flock to fish the clear, cold waters of Bennett Spring that empties into the Niangua River which borders the State Park. I was lucky enough to tag along with my friend for a weekend of camping and hiking!

The park boasts five campgrounds, cabins and even a motel. We stayed in the back of campground 5 on a spacious site.

While I was not there to fish, I really enjoyed seeing all that the park had to offer. There are several landmarks noted on the park map that we checked out. The old wooden bridge is at the north end of the park.

A couple of the park’s landmarks were also built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930’s like the CCC Bridge.

On the south end of the park is the famous gauge house and then Bennett Spring! Over 100 million gallons of water flow from the spring each day.

There is also more than 11 miles of hiking trail. We hiked the Bridge Trail which I enjoyed. Also on my list is to hike the 7.4 mile Natural Tunnel Trail which leads to tunnel 😉 Some day I will get back to Bennett Spring State Park to hike this trail.

Overall, this is a great park! I recommend checking it out!
