Cataract Falls – Indiana

Earlier this year, we decided to take a winter trip to Brown County, Indiana. On our way there, we stopped at Cataract Falls. This waterfall is located in the Lieber State Recreation Area and it is actually the largest waterfall in Indiana based on volume.

I had previously visited this site years ago (see original post HERE!) and it was great to come back and see it…FROZEN!!

The upper falls were beginning to freeze over and the ground was covered in snow!

We walked across the covered bridge!

We then drove to the Lower Falls. If it had not been soooo cold, we could have hiked to them.

Also, if you are looking for a really cute place to stay in Brown County, Indiana, I highly recommend the Schoolhouse Inn! It was built in 1891 and has been converted into an AirBNB. You can check it out HERE! It was so cozy and the best part is that it is dog friendly!

Thanks for visiting! If you have any questions, please leave a comment below!
